ACR SERVICES INC
Service Provider of the
Month
AQUADRY Systems presents our service provider of the
month, ACR Services Inc. ACR Services Inc, a Disaster Kleenup
International (DKI) member, is owned by brothers Mike and
Brant Benson who have been in the restoration business for
over 16 years. The Bensons purchased our AQUADRY Systems model
MP6 propane unit. They recently used the AQUADRY Systems MP6
on a major hotel disaster in Ontario California, where a fire
sprinkler head burst and flooded the entire fourth floor. This
was the second time the hotel had the same flood. The first
time that ACR Services, Inc. was contacted to dry the hotel,
they did so with conventional dehumidifiers and air movers. At
that time, ACR Services, Inc. did not have the approval to use
the AQUADRY System on the first loss. The conventional dry
down using dehumidifiers and air movers had taken 8 days with
substantial demolition and business interruption. ACR
Services, Inc. had to pull back or loosen 50% of the wallpaper
from the drywall to help dry out the walls.
However,
the second time, ACR Services immediately received approval
from the hotel to set up the AQUADRY System. Brandt Benson of
ACR Services, Inc. , had the following to report about the
hotel’s drying progress using the AQUADRY System
MP6:
- Cubic drying space was approximately 18,000 cubic feet
- Structure is built with metal, wood, fire rated drywall,
vinyl wallpaper, carpet coved commercial carpet on felt
padding with lightweight concrete for sub flooring.
- While waiting foapproval for using the AQUADRY System,
ACR Services removed the carpet coving and installed holes
in the base of the drywall.
- AQUADRY Systems MP6 temperatures were approximately 120
to 143 degrees (fire sprinklers were rated to go off at
145-160 degrees)
- AQUADRY System MP6 was used from Monday @ 5 PM to Friday
@ 11 AM.
- The affected areas were successfully dried down in a
little over 3 ½ days.
- Total job from start to finish was a little over 5 days.
- The total billings including building repairs on this
job were 1/3 less than the 8- day dry down using portable
dehumidifiers
- There was also less demolition. No drywall or acoustical
ceiling tile had to be replaced, just repainted. Only 20% or
less of the wallpaper had to be loosened or pulled back
- There was also less loss of business income since this
dry down took only 3 ½ days.
According to Brandt Benson, the AQUADRY System MP6
dried out the property in a very effective manner. The Bensons
were completely satisfied with the results of the AQUADRY
Systems MP6. Their client was equally satisfied that their
hotel was restored and back in operation quickly due to the
use of AQUADRY Systems equipment. Consequently, ACR Services
is rapidly expanding into the commercial drying sector and the
purchase of an AQUADRY Systems MP6 has helped them quickly
move into this marketplace.
